The votes are in and we are pleased to announce that our charity of the year for 2017/18 is the Guide Dogs. This charity supports a cause close to this firm’s heart as one of our solicitors has recently been matched to a guide dog called Gus who has been a huge help assisting him with his day to day life.
Every hour, someone in the UK starts to lose their sight and currently almost two million people in the UK are living with sight loss which has a significant impact on their daily lives. Guide Dogs give people with sight loss the confidence and skills they need to live the life they choose.
We will spend the next year fundraising for this brilliant charity and we got off to a flying start at the Henleaze Christmas Festival. The festivities involved giving away oodles of mulled wine and scrummy homemade cakes and a raffle for our Hamper Pampers which will be drawn on the 18th December 2017.
We even had the honour of having a partially sighted lady called Jan and her guide dog Fizz attend the stall to meet and greet the passersby. We want to thank everyone who visited us at the festival we raised £295.28 which is a wonderful start to our fundraising year.
We have a Christmas Jumper Day arranged for next week and will continue to arrange activities to raise money for this brilliant cause. Watch this space and our website and Twitter for further announcements. In the meantime meet Murray who is a retired guide dog who came to see us in our offices…
