The timescale for a property transaction depends on various factors and particularly the progress of other transactions in a “chain”. However, for a straightforward sale or purchase, we would usually expect an exchange of contracts to occur within six to ten weeks after the issue of a draft contract with completion one to two weeks thereafter.
